So how does Overhaulics Stack Up?
Again our goal here is to attempt to be honest and unbiased. The list above is based on our own experiences and we know our own shortfalls.
So do we score a perfect 5.0?
No…
Being the perfect web host is hard and as far as we know, a perfect 5 doesn’t exist. We could write an essay on why our score barely meets the above cutoff but the reality is that we are catering to a specific client and what we do provide is exactly what they need and greatly appreciate.
Performance: Performance on a site is determined by many many factors, the server being used, the theme and plugins being run, the traffic the site gets, and how well optimized the site is. Because we offer free optimization to websites, the marriage with our above average hardware specs allow sites to perform on par with the fastest around.
Price: While we are nowhere near the cheapest on the list, we are the cheapest for the combination of hosting, management, and support provided. We also include a ton of 3rd party product license’s with managed sites that would cost a fortune to purchase for individual sites. We also do not have any contracts and do not advertise upsells everywhere. If your site needs a bit more power, we provide the evidence and don’t use an upgrade as a solution to a poorly optimized site.
Features: A lot of the bigger companies have many quality of life features such as one click install, one click staging environments, integrated CDN management and more. We handle this all manually during site launches and it usually never needs to be touched again. Our hands on support overrides the importance of these features for the average user.
Control Panel: We use cPanel which has been around since 1996, everyone in the industry knows what it is and knows how to use it. It has all the features a power user would need but can be very user unfriendly for the average business owner. We rated other companies using the same control panel the same score. Most large companies have now built out the own control panels with the beginner in mind and put the most important features front and center. Providing this to our customers is not a priority because most of our customers never login to the hosting control panel or even know how. We make any required changes or adjustments that would be done in there for them.
Support: You do get what you pay for and a majority of the cost of hosting with Overhaulics goes directly into support, maintenance, and quick issue resolution that does not involve a ticket system or multi tiered support departments. You can reach us directly by phone, text, or our personal emails. We login to sites to troubleshoot any issue and usually get them resolved in the first attempt.
From our average client’s perspective, the features and control panel don’t matter because everything has been setup for and is managed for them. If you remove those scores, then a 4.6 is what you get.
