New Clients: Pre Site Launch

Initial Recommendation
This applies to new clients and would take place at the beginning of your current quote/build process when you would normally mention you do or do not include hosting in your quoted build pricing.

Initial Research
Send the client domain to Overhaulics. Kyle will check and confirm where the domain registration is located and check the email configuration.
Note: If email is setup on the current hosting account, Kyle will make note of this for a future introduction email/call.
Hosting Setup
Once you have landed the web design project there is a form on the Overhaulics site you can fill out. This form allows you to add client contact details, site information, and the hosting type you need for your project. When submitted an account is automatically configured and you will be sent a WordPress login so you can get to work within 24 hours.

Client Notification
The client will be sent a welcome email stating that you set up the account on their behalf and they will be provided a link to set a password so they can login.
The client is expected to pay for their first year of hosting within 2 weeks of the account being created but the second renewal will not be processed until 1 year after the launch of the site. It works out so they aren't technically paying for the build time.
The purpose of this timeline is to get the client's credit card data on file before they forget what Overhaulics is and delay their own launch due to a lack of payment months later.
Build the Site
You can build the site and reach out to Overhaulics if you need access to any specific plugins or resources we can provide to assist you. We have a plethora of unlimited plugin licenses you can use.
Pre-Launch
When the build is approaching completion we will need to confirm the client still has access to the domain registration information and coordinate who will make the Nameserver updates.
Overhaulics will copy the domain DNS records into CloudFlare and complete additional DNS setup that will help with contact form deliverability.
Schedule a planned launch day with the client and Overhaulics.
Launch Day
On launch day Overhaulics will run through a launch checklist to ensure every task is completed, tested, and working.
When the process is complete the site will be up and you the designer will receive a breakdown of all the tasks completed. Notes will be made if anything is still on a to-do list.
The client will also receive an email informing them to review their site and test the contact forms/any non-static functionality on the site.
